Founded in 2013 as Gates Design, our company represents the hard work and dedication of our founder, Jennifer Gates. Relationship building and intentional design solutions has guided her company.

In 2024, Gates Design was rebranded into Gates Studio with the addition of Kevin Gates. His problem solving skills and attention to detail is a great attribute to their designs. Together they lead with a wealth of experience, bring efficient solutions and communication, while creating a successful project with the client, consultants, and contractors.

Our Services

  • Meet with stakeholders to gain an understanding on the necessary and desired functions. Visit potential sites. Gather information and then analyze data. Present findings and offer opinions on next steps.

  • Organize thoughts and intentions of the desired space. Develop a detailed criteria for the project. Begin creating design solutions to discuss with the client.

  • Define the project information through drawings and specifications. Incorporate zoning and code requirements into the design. Coordinate with Design Consultants and Engineers to create a comphrensive document for permitting and construction.

  • Attend regularly scheduled construction meetings with contractors. Review contractor submitted paperwork for both construction materials and payment applications. Communicate with client on construction progress.

  • Provide curated options of flooring, paint and stain colors, countertops, and light fixtures that the support the desired vision and feeling of a space. Coordinate with product representatives . Assist with the selection and placement of new and existing furniture.

  • Serve as the Owner’s main point of contact between the Architect, Engineers, General Contractor, and other consultants/vendors. Provide oversight during the design and construction phases. Be an advocate for the client’s interests.
